Simple Troubleshooting Guidelines if HandPunch Is Not Working:

  1. Poll clock one last time to get all punches in the clock currently downloaded to Time and Attendance software.
  2. Check calibration scores at the clock. (Write them down) »How?
  3. Clean the clock with Windex (platen, side mirrors and under nose of clock/black plexiglass where the camera takes picture through) – all external parts.
  4. Reset clock and perform a cold boot (Unplug power cord from clock and plug it back in, all while holding down the little white button in back of clock). Let it restart, then select option “Cold Boot.”
  5. Check calibration scores once again at the clock (Write them down and compare). [Note: A good calibration scores is: (R)+/-2, (C)+/-2, (E)90-120]
  6. Try to recreate the initial problem.
  7. If problems persist, contact us at (718) 784-4900 to get a loan unit from us. (Must be under support contract)

 

Cleaning the HandPunch

Inspect and clean the HandPunch regularly to maintain optimum performance. Clean the platen, side mirror, reflector, and the window above the platen using a clean cloth dampened with ordinary, non-abrasive window cleaner (see Figure 8-1). Start at the rear corners of the platen and work your way forward. DO NOT SPRAY CLEANING FLUID DIRECTLY INTO OR ON THE HANDPUNCH.

 

Enroll a new employee:

  1. To get entry to password level, press “Clear” and “Enter.”
  2. Enter your supervisor ID, followed by the “Enter” key. (if prompted)
  3. Place hand for verification.
  4. Press "4", then "#"
  5. “Enroll Employee” displays - Press “#.”
  6. Enter the employee ID followed by the “Enter” key.
  7. Place hand 1/3 (remove hand).
  8. Place hand 2/3 (remove hand).
  9. Place hand 3/3 (remove hand).
  10. The new employee is now enrolled.

 

Enroll a new supervisor:

  1. To get entry to menus, press “Clear” and “Enter.”
  2. Enter your Supervisor ID, followed by the “Enter” key (if prompted).
  3. Place hand for verification.
  4. Press “4” then “#.”
  5. Press “*” once.
  6. “Enroll Supervisor” displays - Press “#.”
  7. Enter new supervisor ID followed by the “Enter” key.
  8. Place hand 1/3 (remove hand).
  9. Place hand 2/3 (remove hand).
  10. Place hand 3/3 (remove hand).
  11. The new supervisor is now enrolled.

 

Enter IP Address in Clock:

  1. To get entry to password level, press “Clear” and “Enter.”
  2. Enter your supervisor ID, followed by the “Enter” key (XXX then Enter).
  3. Place your hand for verification.
  4. Enter password followed by # key: 2#.
  5. Press “*” to skip set language.
  6. Press “*” to skip set date format.
  7. Press “*” to skip set date and time.
  8. Press “*” to skip set address.
  9. Press “*” to skip set ID length.
  10. Set Serial: Press #
  11. Verify/Enter IP address (make sure to use all 3 numbers in each octet) Example: 192.168.001.105
  12. Verify/Enter Gateway (make sure to use all 3 numbers in each octet) Example: 192.168.001.001
  13. Verify/Enter Host Bit 9600 Baud: Press “#”

 

Change Time on Your HandPunch:

  1. Make sure your computer time is correct.
  2. Open Time and Attendance software.
  3. Go to “Polling.”
  4. Check Option: “Set Clock Date & Time”
  5. Click “Poll”
  6. Your HandPunch time should now be correct.

Add New Employee to Software:

  1. To add an employee, click on the Employee icon or select Daily Operations, then Employee. This will open the Configure Employee screen.
  2. In the Configure Employee screen, press the Detail tab to change to the Employee's Details.
  3. Click the Add button at the bottom of the window to add a new employee.
  4. All the fields will be blank, with the Hire date and the Fiscal date set to the current system date.
  5. Enter a unique employee number and the employee’s personal information. Make sure to check the Hire and Fiscal dates. Assign the employee to a Division, Group, and Holiday Group (if in use). If the Benefit Accrual Mode is installed, assign the employee to an Accrual Rule. If the PC Clock is installed, check the box to assign the employee. All information can be added or changed at a later date, with the exception of the Employee Number.
  6. Add any comments, then click OK.

Change the Time on Your HandPunch:

  1. Make sure your computer time is correct.
  2. Open Time and Attendance software.
  3. Go to “Polling.”
  4. Check Option: “Set Clock Date & Time”
  5. Click “Poll”
  6. Your HandPunch time should now be correct.
